Spring has most definitely sprung and with the new season we're looking forward to getting back into our hosting era. From cosy afternoon tea catchups, to long wine-fuelled Friday night dinners, to delicious Sunday roasts, we're getting ready to gather all our friends and family around the dinner table, and for that we need the ultimate tablecloth to set the scene, and Next has just the design.
Tablecloths have had a serious design upgrade in the last few years and no chic tablescape is complete without a pretty tablecloth to set the scene. After all, as the biggest item on the table it has to be eye-catching, but not overpower any other decorative items you may have on the table. And when you're not hosting a big event, a nice tablecloth can transform a simple Monday night dinner into an event, even if it's just you and a bowl of pasta - you still deserve to sit at a beautiful table.
And right now we are loving Next's £36 Sage Green Gingham Check Washed Cotton Table Cloth.
See the tablecloth here:
The tablecloth is ideal as we head into the warmer months, as it's light colours of sage and white will bring an instant lift to any table.
Not only is it nailing spring's biggest colour of the moment - sage, but it's also incorporated two other trends too. Gingham is always popular at spring time thanks to its playfulness as a print and right now we're seeing a lot of frill trim incorporated into soft-furnishings, and we love the large frill trim around the edge of this tablecloth.
The tablecloth would look well with pastel dinnerware, particularly with lavender, pink and butter yellow shades.
It's made from 100 per cent washed cotton and is completely machine washable, so should there be any wine or food stains you can simply pop it in the washing machine, no special care needed.
There's also two different sizes of the table cloth, one which measures up at 137cm x 229cm, and the bigger size at 280cm x 160cm. So there should be one that meets your table requirements.
See you at the dinner table!
