With this sudden change in weather (goodbye heat wave and hello, grey and miserable UK) we're back to wanting to spend a lot of time getting cosy in our bedroom. But just because it's dull and distinctly lacking in colour outside, we can still bring the sunshine vibes into our bedroom with a new colourful duvet set. And at this point why not make it reversible so you get two different colourful looks in just one purchase?
Right now we're loving Matalan's selection of reversible duvets which start from just £12 for a duvet cover and two matching pillows in a double size.
We've rounded up seven of our favourite sets right now that are all the ideal balance of cosy but also breathable, with many of the sets a mixture of cotton and polyester, they're nice to sleep in when the weather (hopefully) goes back to hot.
Best Matalan reversible bedding sets
Yellow gingham and floral set
Yellow is one of the biggest shades of the summer and so we love the sunny brightness this duvet cover will bring your room, especially in the timeless gingham style. However, if you're not ready to full embrace the bright tone quite yet, this set also has a sweet floral print on the other, meaning you can just have the gingham yellow poking out when you fold the top of the duvet over.
Green palm tile duvet set
This set is instantly transporting us to a sunny villa aboard thanks the tile pattern and in a sage green colour way it's on trend for summer. The alternate side has a more subtle print of a green leaf design.
Floral stripe set
Pink and green is a classic interiors combination and this set brings the two together for a stripe and floral design. On one side there's just a classic pink and white stripe, and then on the reverse the green and white stripe has a pink floral design on top.
Western pattern set
If you've not been paying attention then let it be known that cowboy inspired prints and patterns are everywhere this summer in interiors. We love the slightly more grown-up take on the look as it uses a brown and cream colour way to bring to life the two different rodeo patterns.
Blue nautical set
Every summer nautical makes its return to our homes, and we're never bored of it! This blue and white toile pattern is filled with boat and lighthouse motifs, giving a very USA east coast feel. We may not be able to be in Nantucket but our bedrooms can feel like it!
Pink and blue paisley set
Paisley is a classic interiors print that is having a bit of a moment right now. We love the combination of the pink and blue alternate designs that are colourful without being taking over a room.
Sorrento print set
Anyone for Italy? We're dreaming of a trip to the coast, and this bedding set gets us halfway there with its lemon, pasta and shell design on one side, and a sweet pink zigzag on the other.
