Summer homeware has been dominated by a few colour trends, including sage green and lemon yellow, but now a new shade is starting to emerge as one our favourites - dusky blue.

The calming blue hue is ideal for creating a calming space and a good way to bring in colour to a room without it being overwhelming and dominating. And if you want to try out dusky blue in your bedroom we have just the duvet set from Matalan to dip into the trend.

The dusky blue reversible bedding set is in a gingham pattern on one side and finished with delicate daisy embroidery, giving a slight vintage inspired feel to the bedding. On the reverse side of the duvet cover is a plain white with a daisy print.

The double duvet comes with two matching pillowcases that are in the blue gingham style and costs £16. There's also a king size if you have a larger bed which is available for £18.

It's made from a mix of polyester and cotton, so it should be fairly breathable to sleep in as we approach the warmer weather, but also cosy enough for chillier evenings.

This duvet set will work well with a variety of colour palettes, either as a way to bring colour into a neutral room and brighten up a wooden bed, or to compliment existing pastel shades such as green, pink and yellow.

It's also machine washable so super easy to take care of. We'd accessorise it with some sage green cushions to pick up on the green in the daisy print and maybe a cosy cream throw too.
