What is Rich Holiday, Poor Holiday?
If you haven't seen it yet, Rich Holiday, Poor Holiday is a Channel 5 series inspired by another Channel 5 series of the same name Rich House, Poor House. It sees two families or groups of friends at different ends of the income spectrum in the UK swap holidays.
The official synopsis is: "Two families, or groups of friends, from the richest and poorest 10%, are swapping holidays. Will it be the holiday of a lifetime or an experience to forget? From the windswept campsites of Britain, to luxury volcano spars of the Caribbean, the holidays give the families time to reflect on what makes a holiday really special, money or friends and family?"
Each family is given a new holiday location, and given the budget and activities of the family they've swapped with. At the end of their holiday they are shown how much the true cost of their holiday is and discuss if they think the trip has been worth it. For many of the families at both ends of the income spectrum, the trips provide insightful conversations into happiness, money and family.
Rich Holiday, Poor Holiday seasons 1 and 2 are available on Netflix now
