Netflix's newest documentary subject is footballer Jamie Vardy, with a new 90 minute episode of Untold airing today covering the former Leicester City player's rise from ordinary boy to legendary striker, and the highs and lows that come in between.
And while the film is full of exciting moments and memorable scenes in Jamie's life, it also takes us to his darkest chapters, including his relationship with his family.
During the documentary Jamie gets candid about his relationship with his parents and why he is no longer in communication with them. So what exactly happened with Jamie and his family? And why do they not feature in Untold? Here's what you need to know.
Why are Jamie's parents not in Untold: Jamie Vardy?
During Netflix's Untold: Jamie Vardy, we get to see a lot of Jamie's home life with wife Rebekah and their children, and also a lot of funny moments with his oldest friends dubbed 'The Inbetweeners', however his parents never make an appearance.
And no, it's not because they're camera shy, it turns out Jamie is no longer in communication with his parents.
In the documentary Jamie revealed back in 2015 during the height of his career a story was due to come out in the papers about the identity of his biological father, a fact he was previously unaware of.
So what happened between them, here's the full timeline.

End of 2015 - Jamie discovers the truth about his biological father
During Untold, Jamie revealed he was travelling away with the Leicester City team when Rebekah called him and told him his agent was looking to speak to him.
It turned out the papers were planning to run a story about the "truth" of his biological father and had invited him down to a Leicester City game to get a photo of him watching his son.
John Morris, Jamie's agent revealed he had called Jamie's mum prior to telling Jamie who reportedly burst into tears about hearing the story, and told John: "You have to stop this. You have to spot this. This isn't fair." Upon hearing the news Jamie flew back from Copenhagen.
During Untold Jamie was asked if he knew the father who raised him wasn't his biological father, to which Jamie replied: "I had a slight inkling from when I was younger." He went onto add other people would say they knew his dad but would brush them off.
He went onto say it was "probably one of the harder things I've had to go through." Jamie also said he "had a pop" at his mother following the revelation.
2016 - Jamie's parents don't attend his wedding
Two years after meeting Jamie and Rebekah tied the knot in a ceremony in Cheshire in 2016. However, while the wedding was full of famous faces, including Louis Tomlinson, two people not in attendance were Jamie's mother and stepdad.
At the time it was reported the pair didn't attend the wedding because of Rebekah. In a report published by the Mirror at the time, Phil Vardy, who had raised Jamie as his own since he was a baby, said of the wedding: "It’s not right to talk about it at such a time. It’s been going on ever since she came on the scene."
And Jamie's mum Lisa Vardy said: "I’ll never say anything about my son, good or bad. I’m not bothered. I get up go to work and look after my family. I’ll not be at any fancy wedding.”
2026 - Jamie has not spoken to his biological family
While speaking about his family during Untold Jamie claimed his biological father has never reached out to speak to him.
As for how things are with his mum, during Untold Jamie said he thought he should have been told if it was true, and said: "I've still not heard it from them now." He shared that his mum and step-dad have not met his children and he made the decision he "was done with it."
