There's a new Netflix favourite show in town, as Vikings: Valhalla has shot straight to the top of the streaming platform's most-watched list.
If you need a recap, Vikings: Valhalla is the sequel to the original Vikings series, which ran for seven years from 2013 to 2020. The 2022 reboot is set 100 years later and sees a "new generation of legendary heroes arise to forge their own destiny - and make history," according to Netflix.
Fans have very quickly become obsessed with the new season, comparing the reboot to the original series - with one of the show's stars recently speaking out to explain the reasons behind the differences.
As expected, viewers are already looking ahead to season two. And now, another cast member has teased a surprise plot for the follow-up series, and it's all very exciting. *Spoilers ahead*.
First up: it's good news, as a Vikings: Valhalla season two is officially happening! Series creator Jeb Stuart confirmed the news to Digital Spy, saying, "I am just finishing the editing of the last episode of season two this week and I am dying to get it out there."
Plus, Stuart even revealed that season three is also on the way, with filming set to take place in Ireland later this year. He told the publication, "Season three is very exciting and my Vikings get out of Scandinavia, so we have lots of great surprises and stories for season three."
As for what we can expect in season two, cast member Caroline Henderson (who plays Jarl Haakon) has now teased a surprising plot line.
Sadly for fans, season one of Vikings: Valhalla saw Henderson's character Jarl Haakon killed off during the attack on Kattegat.
Teasing Jarl Haakon's return in season two (despite her death), Henderson told Metro, "We don’t really know that [she won’t be back]."
She went on, "She might turn up as a ghost or something."
Offering more insight into her character, Henderson added, "She’s a pagan and she’s very strong in her belief. I think portraying that and being part of that journey was amazing because she knows what’s going to happen."
We can't wait for season two.
