What is Obsession about?
Obsession came out in 2023 and stars Richard Armitage and Indira Varma as married couple William and Ingrid Farrow. William is a surgeon who ends up having an affair with his son's fiancée Anna (Charlie Murphy) and the affair soon turns addictive on William's side as he's unable to get over his feelings for Anna, causing chaos for his work and family. It's a compulsive and gripping series, that will have you shocked at how it ends.
The show was inspired by the novel Damage, written in 1991 by Josephine Hart, which was then created into the 1992 movie of the same name starring Miranda Richardson, Juliette Binoche and Jeremy Irons.
When Obsession was first released in 2023, The Times described it as "addictive" and Rolling Stone praised the production of the show, saying: "Obsession is as much a mood as a story, and the production value is pretty high for something of this ilk. The lighting, both exterior and interior, evokes the proper mix of dread and euphoria."
Meanwhile viewers were obsessed with the series, with one describing it on IMDb as "sneaky and steamy" and another said "Great music, great acting, a lot of sex, taboo sex but gave a chilling, thriller feel throughout."
Who is in the cast of Obsession?
Obsession is led by Richard Armitage as surgeon William Farrow, we're most used to seeing Armitage in Harlan Coben dramas, so it's a nice change to see him in another series. Armitage stars alongside Indira Varma, who plays his wife Ingrid, who is very suspicious throughout something is going on between her husband and soon to be daughter-in-law. Varma is best known for starring in Game of Thrones and The Capture.
Their daughter-in-law Anna Burton is played by Charlie Murphy, who is best known for playing Ann Gallagher in Happy Valley. Ingrid and William's son and Anna's fiancé Jay Farrow is played by Rish Shah, who is best known for appearing in the Disney+ series Ms Marvel.
