Jason Statham and Stephen Graham in a Guy Ritchie crime drama together? Yep, consider our evening plans sorted.

Long before Jason was casually saving the world in blockbuster action films and Stephen was delivering scene-stealing performances in everything from Adolescence to Line of Duty, the pair starred together in Snatch – and 26 years later, the cast looks even more ridiculously stacked.

Released in 2000, the London-set crime comedy stars Jason as small-time boxing promoter Turkish alongside Stephen as his business partner Tommy, as the pair become caught up in an increasingly chaotic world of illegal boxing, gangsters and one very valuable stolen diamond.

And they're far from the only familiar faces. Brad Pitt, Vinnie Jones, Benicio del Toro and The Crown’s Jared Harris are all along for the ride.

Basically, if you’ve never seen Snatch – or haven't watched it since the Noughties, consider this your sign.

What is Snatch about?

Set in London's criminal underworld, Snatch brings together two increasingly messy storylines involving an extremely valuable stolen diamond, illegal boxing, gangsters and a group of people making some very questionable decisions.

Jason Statham plays small-time boxing promoter Turkish, who, alongside his business partner Tommy (Stephen Graham), finds himself in serious trouble after becoming involved with terrifying crime boss Brick Top.

Their problems begin when the boxer they're relying on is taken out of action and they recruit Mickey O’Neil, played by Brad Pitt, to replace him.

Except Mickey isn't particularly interested in following anyone else's plan.

At the same time, a stolen 86-carat diamond has arrived in London, bringing another collection of criminals into the mix as they all attempt to get their hands on it.

Naturally, absolutely nothing goes smoothly.

Who is in the cast of Snatch?

Honestly, the better question might be: who isn't?

Jason Statham leads the film as Turkish, years before The Transporter, Crank and The Expendables turned him into one of Hollywood’s biggest action stars.

Then there's Stephen Graham as Tommy. These days, we know him from everything from Adolescence and Boiling Point to This Is England and Line of Duty, but Snatch came relatively early in his career.

They're joined by a seriously star-studded cast, including:

  • Brad Pitt as Mickey O’Neil
  • Vinnie Jones as Bullet-Tooth Tony
  • Alan Ford as Brick Top
  • Dennis Farina as Cousin Avi
  • Benicio del Toro as Franky Four Fingers
  • Jason Flemyng as Darren

Oh, and The Crown and Mad Men star Jared Harris pops up as well.

Is Snatch worth watching?

There's a reason we're still talking about it more than two decades later.

The film is peak early Ritchie: fast-paced, funny, violent and filled with overlapping storylines that somehow become more chaotic every time they collide.

And while Brad's performance understandably became one of its most talked-about elements, watching Jason and Stephen together before either became quite as synonymous with British film and television as they are today is reason enough for a rewatch.

It also moves fast. At just over an hour and 40 minutes, this isn't one of those crime epics requiring you to sacrifice an entire Sunday.

Where you can watch Snatch in the UK?

Snatch recently left Prime Video earlier this month. But all is not lost.

Current UK listings show the film available to stream through ITVX, including a free-with-adverts option, while it can also be bought digitally through services including Amazon Video and Apple TV. As ever, streaming availability can change, so it's worth checking before settling in.

Basically, if watching a baby-faced Jason and Stephen navigate Ritchie's wildly chaotic London underworld sounds like your kind of evening, you know what to do.
