If there’s one thing Hannah Waddingham isn’t interested in, it’s what the internet has to say about beauty filters. While attending the premiere of the fourth season of Ted Lasso, the actor stopped to chat with Entertainment Tonight, where she was asked about a fan discussion surrounding the show’s alleged use of skin-softening digital filters.
“Ride or Die, fans are loving it and they can’t help but notice the filter that seems to be on all of the characters,” the interviewer began.
“Filter?” Hannah replied, clearly puzzled.
After the interviewer explained that viewers had been commenting online, Hannah immediately shut the conversation down by plugging her ears. Relatable, much?
“Oh, no, no, no, no. I don’t...” she said, covering her ears. “Honestly, I don’t read reviews. I don’t look at that stuff. No, no, no.”
The interviewer cooperated with Hannah’s reluctance to answer, suggesting they “keep it that way” if she hadn’t heard about the discourse already. But Hannah wasn’t taking any chances.
“Oh no. No, I don’t want to know anything about that,” she said with a smile. “I don’t watch things. This [Ted Lasso] is the first thing I’ll have watched in so long. I don’t watch things. I don’t read reviews. I do my work and I split.”
Neither Prime Video—the streaming service behind Ride or Die—nor the show’s producers have addressed the rumors. So, for now, beauty filter gate remains unresolved!
