- Charlie Georgiou, a season 7 bombshell, defended his brother Zach’s exclusive relationship with Kayda Bosse on Love Island USA season 8, calling it a mature decision before entering the real world.
- Zach chose exclusivity over the boyfriend/girlfriend label to avoid pressure, sparking villa drama and online fan backlash about his approach.
- Charlie clapped back at critics who accused him of blindly supporting Zach, refusing to publicly criticize his brother and dismissing fans as “fanatic cult-obsessed deluded people online.”
This isn’t Charlie Georgiou’s first Love Island USA rodeo. After he appeared as a bombshell on the show’s seventh season, his younger brother, Zach Georgiou, has made it to the home stretch of season 8 with his connection, Kayda Bosse. Now, Charlie is revealing how he really feels about Zach’s decision to be exclusive with Kayda after his brother received some backlash from fans.
“I think it’s a mature decision to be exclusively dating rather than label yourself boyfriend and girlfriend before you leave into the outside world. Being in the villa is a manufactured and completely surreal environment to the outside world,” Charlie wrote in a July 8 Threads post.
He continued, “Dating on the outside already has its complications for many people. now amplify it for the cast as it’s about to be very intense for all of them and they have no clue how it will be to adjust into the real world as a couple right now.”
While Zach didn’t want to put more pressure on their connection with the boyfriend/girlfriend label, he wanted to reassure Kayda that he only has eyes for her by making it exclusive. This caused some drama in and out of the villa, as Kayda felt hurt by Trinity Tatum’s initial reaction to the news, and fans have been in discourse about Zach’s decision online.
Charlie also took a moment to clap back at fans who criticized him for “blindly supporting” his brother throughout the season.
After someone compared Charlie’s ongoing support for Zach to Gal Tshnieder’s siblings playfully trolling him on their joint Instagram account, the season 7 alum wrote, “You want me to ridicule my brother online whilst I’m receiving vast amounts of insane hate towards him to ‘win people over’? Wrong family. I don’t care to be liked by fanatic cult-obsessed deluded people online.”
Naturally, fans weren’t thrilled by his response. Someone called him out for slamming the audience of the exact same show he was on last summer, writing, “You cared enough to try and go on a HIGHLY viewed show & attempt win 100k based on our ‘deluded’ say-so …no ?”
Another person chimed in, “No people just want you to hold him accountable [for] his actions. That’s what a real family does. I would never watch my brother on live tv disrespect people and not call him out. You can still love and care for him without co signing his behavior.”
Well…Charlie said what he said!
