Love Island USA and Love Island UK are coming to a close! On…completely different timelines.

Both shows premiered in the same week, but Love Island USA’s finale is this Sunday, July 12, while Love Island UK’s finale is reportedly allllll the way on Monday, July 27. So why is Love Island UK blessed with almost two extra weeks? Mostly because the US version of the long-running reality show is historically shorter!

Love Island USA typically airs for 6 weeks and 37 episodes, while Love Island UK lasts for 8 weeks total and 58 episodes.

It’s unclear why the UK version of the show is so much longer, but theories and speculation suggest that Love Island USA is ramping things up more slowly since the show is a relatively new phenomenon here in the USA. It’s also possible that Peacock has something else lined up later this summer that they want viewers to watch during the Love Island USA slot. After all, LIUSA being on every single night is definitely a commitment for viewers, and there’s not a lot of time to tune into other shows!

As for what to expect from Love Island USA’s final week, we have six couples left (Trinity and Bryce, Aniya and Carl, Kayda and Zach, Melanie and Sincere, Kenzie and Dylan, and Tierra and KC) and two of them will be voted out—leaving us with the final four.

Fans were asked to vote for their favorite four couples last night, so it looks like a dumping will shake up the Villa VERY shortly…
