Top Boy season 5 cast: How do the characters all link together?
A reminder of their shared history and relations
Top Boy's fifth and final season is now available to stream on Netflix, with the first two seasons - including one called Summerhouse - originally airing on Channel 4. Yep, after 12 years of Sully and Dushane being in our lives, the Top Boy story is finally coming to an end. So after all these years, including a six year time jump, you'd be forgiven for feeling a bit confused about how all the characters link. Which ones are siblings? Who has known each other for years, and where do people's loyalties lie?
Here's a quick rundown of the Top Boy season five cast, which characters they play, and their individual storylines so far. You're welcome.

Top Boy character - Dushane Hill
Who are they played by? Leading actor Dushane is played by Ashley Walters
How do they link to the other Top Boy characters?
- Dushane and Sully have known each other since season one of Top Boy
- In season three, Dushane returns to Summerhouse estate after living in Jamaica for six years. Dris introduces him to Jaq and Keiron, and he reunites with Sully. Jamie - Stefan's older brother - is their enemy, as he deals drugs on the same patch
- Dushane meets Shelley in season three, when she's looking after his ill mother. By season four, they become a couple
Top Boy character - Sully / Gerard Sullivan
Who are they played by? Kano / Kane Robinson
How do they link to the other Top Boy characters?
- Sully has worked with Dushane selling drugs since series one
- Season three starts with a six year time jump, and Sully is in prison. When he comes out, he and Dushane are the kingpins of Summerhouse again - but are up against competition from Jamie
- Sully ends up killing Dris, a member of his gang, after discovering he was informing on them
- Sully denies it to Mandy, Dris's partner, asking Shelley - Dushane's girlfriend - to give her a job at the salon when she gets out of prison
- In season four, Sully shoots Jamie, who is working for him at the time, as he believes he's plotting to overthrow him and Dushane. Jamie is Stefan's older brother
Top Boy character - Jaq Lawrence
Who are they played by? Jasmine Jobson
How do they link to the other Top Boy characters?
- We first meet Jaq in season three, as someone who has been living in Summerhouse during the six years when Dushane was in Jamaica and Sully was in prison
- She quickly establishes her loyalty to them, gaining respect as the third in command during season four
- She is good friends with Keiron
- When Jamie's gang starts selling for Dushane and Sully, she is effectively in charge of them
- Becks is her girlfriend, and Lauryn is her sister
Top Boy character - Mandy
Who are they played by? Natalie Bianaca Athanasiou, known as NoLay
How do they link to the other Top Boy characters?
- Mandy used to go out with Dris, who was killed by Sully in season three of Top Boy for betraying Summerhouse
- The pair share a daughter, Erin, who is one of Steffan's school friends
- Mandy works in Shelley's salon, after being released from prison, though it's not yet known why she was in prison in the first place
Top Boy character - Stefan Tovell
Who are they played by? Araloyin Oshunremi
How do they link to the other Top Boy characters?
- Stefan is Jamie's youngest brother. He also has another brother, Aaron, who is the middle sibling
- In season four, he dated Tia, who hasn't been mentioned in any cast lists for season five
- Stefan saw Sully shoot Jamie at the end of season four, while we see him get intertwined with Si and the remainders of his brother Jamie's gang in season five.
Top Boy character - Becks
Who are they played by? Adwoa Aboah
How do they link to the other Top Boy characters?
- We first meet Becks in season four, where she dates Jaq in a bar
- They become a couple, and Becks takes Jaq's sister Lauryn into her home to try and keep her away from abusive partner Curtis
Top Boy character - Si
Who are they played by? Dudley O'Shaghnessey
How do they link to the other Top Boy characters?
- Si is one of the main members of the ZT gang, which was founded by Jamie and Kit throughout seasons three and four. They are originally a rival drug gang to Summerhouse
- When Jamie starts working for Dushane and Sully in season four, Si is also loyal to them, but his loyalty begins to be tested in season five when he begins to speculate that it was Sully that killed Jamie
- He also takes Stefan - Jamie's younger brother - under his wing in season five
Top Boy character - Jeffrey
Who are they played by? Shaun Dingwall
How do they link to the other Top Boy characters?
- Jeffrey is Lizzie's husband, and the pair have drug suppliers in Morocco. In season three, we see Jeffrey and Lizzie raising a glass of Champagne with Dushane when he becomes their main distributor, when Jamie is in prison
- In season four, Jeffrey plots with Dushane to take over Summerhouse, and redevelop it, something which Dushane is originally in on. When the residents protect, Dushane then tells Jeffrey to cancel the redevelopment or he will kill Lizzie. Jeffrey cancels the redevelopment bid
- In season five, when Lizzie goes missing, Dushane holds Jeffrey accountable
Top Boy character - Shelley
Who are they played by? Little Simz, real name Simbiatu Abisola Abiola
How do they link to the other Top Boy characters?
- Shelley is introduced in season three as Lauryn's best friend
- She is caring for Dushane's mum when she's unwell in Summerhouse, and they eventually form a relationship
- Shelley confides about her dark past in Mandy, who helps her to dispose of the evidence. Shelley then offers Mandy a job, after Sully asks her to out of guilt for killing Dris
Top Boy character - Lizzie
Who are they played by? Lisa Dwan
How do they link to the other Top Boy characters?
- Lizzie is initially introduced as Jamie's drug supplier in season three, when Sully and Dushane kidnap her
- She also had an affair with Jamie
- She visits Morocco with Dushane in season four, to meet with her supplier, when Dushane wants to take over the drug line, but is nowhere to be seen in the season five teasers
- Lizzie is married to Jeffrey
Top Boy character - Erin Wright
Who are they played by? Savanah Graham
How do they link to the other Top Boy characters?
- Erin is daughter to Mandy and Dris, who was murdered by Sully in season four. Mandy is now out of prison and looking after Erin
- She is school friends with Stefan
Top Boy character - Lauryn Lawrence
Who are they played by? Saffron Hocking

- Lauryn is Jaq's sister
- She has also been best friends with Shelley since season three, when they were both introduced
- Her ex-boyfriend, Curtis, and his sister, were abusive towards Lauryn, and she murdered him in season four

- Kieron is introduced in season three as one of the drug dealers of Summerhouse, who is part of Jaq's group
- His mum, Dianna, lives in Summerhouse, and spent a lot of time with Dushane's mum Pat, and Shelley, when she was looking after her
- He helped Jaq, Romy and Dushane to dissolve Curtis's body when Lauryn stabbed him to death
Top Boy character - Tadgh
Who are they played by? Brian Gleeson

- Tadgh is a new Irish character, introduced for season five. Fans are speculating that he's likely to be a rival drug distributor or supplier to Sully and Dushane.
Top Boy character - Jonny
Who are they played by? Barry Keoghan

- Jonny is a new character introduced for season five of Top Boy. It's not 100% known how he links to the other characters, though it's clear he's part of a rival drug gang to Dushane and Sully.
- In episode one of season five of Top Boy, they threaten Sully with the decapitated heads of the Moroccan gang, before trying to take over his supply line.
