The time has finally arrived, the Married at First Sight Australia Final Vows took place this evening and we were not prepared for David and Alissa's jaw-dropping ceremony. But while it may have felt like we got the rug pulled out from under us, it turns out there was actually a lot going on behind the scenes of Alissa and David's relationship we didn't get to see which makes David literally walking out of their ceremony much more understandable. Well, sort of.
In case you haven't seen, during tonight's Final Vows, the pair are the first to decide of the remaining couples if they'll continue their relationship in the outside world. And while it wasn't looking great for the pair, we're still in shock at what went down,
During the ceremony David began his vows, by saying: "What I've come to understand is that with you there was no version of me that could win. If I pushed harder, I would've been called controlling. If I held back, I was labelled disconnected."
He then adds: "I'm walking away because loving you shouldn't mean losing myself."
And then..mic drop...he literally walks out of the ceremony leaving Alissa and the audience stunned. Alissa didn't even get to say her vows?
However, while she was shocked and claimed she had "wasted three months of [her] life" with David, it turns out the couple had been having problems throughout the experiment, with many moments not shown on TV. So what exactly did we miss? Here's all the missing moments MAFSAU reportedly didn't show.

There was an 'incident' four weeks in we didn't see
Following her time on the show, Alissa revealed to the Daily Mail the couple had a problem around four weeks into the experiment that she never moved on from.
While not revealing exactly what happened, Alissa claimed: "We had an early incident, maybe four weeks into the experiment, that really rocked us. Trust was broken and looking back now, I never really healed. I never fully let go of that hurt."
The pair argued during the couples retreat
As if the couples retreat wasn't dramatic enough, it turns out Alissa and David had a full blown argument we just didn't see.
During the MAFSAU official spin-off series MAFS After The Dinner Party, footage was shown of the pair arguing over the room they had because the blinds were too see-through...
Alissa is seen saying: "I'm just trying to fix the f***ing problem and you're just standing there not coming up with a solution."
To which David replies: "I hear you, babe. You have the solution. Babe, I could have solved it easily."
And then Alissa says: "'F**k you! I f**king solve every problem. You piss me off!"

David said his personality was 'muted' on the show
While Alissa was a really prominent figure throughout the series, David often took a backseat, or so we thought. David has since revealed a lot of his personality wasn't portrayed on the show, telling Pedestrian: "Half of my personality was taken out of the show for some reason, so you’ll barely see all the jokes I made, or me talking to her, or us having fun. I feel like I’ve been muted on the show so far.”
Alissa's unseen comments about David's home
Homestays was a turning point for David and Alissa and not in a good way. And it seems things were even worse off camera.
During MAFS After The Dinner Party previously unseen footage was shown of Alissa acting rather snobby towards David and calling him out for his lack of assets.
In one clip she can be seen saying: "Obviously, you know, he’s still renting. He might drive a car that he might own. Um, but where are your assets? I need to know that you are financially stable and you can look after a family.”
David was shown the footage during the spin-off show and was stunned to say the least. He also claimed he had offered to show Alissa his bank account, which she refused.
Alissa claimed they were already separated before the end of show
Ok so despite walking away from their relationship during Final Vows Alissa has since claimed the couple were actually separated prior to this.
Speaking to Pedestrian, she revealed the couple had split after the Final Commitment Ceremony before the Grass is Greener challenge.
"We were even separated at the Grass Is Greener challenge. So there’s a lot of context missing here," she claimed.
David had already said he loved Alissa prior to the Final Dinner Party
What appeared to be a pivotal moment in their relationship, actually wasn't that big a deal, well according to Alissa.
During the Final Dinner Party viewers were shocked when Alissa just said "thank you" to David confessing he loved her. However, Alissa has since claimed David had previously told her this on camera but it hadn't made the final edit.
"People are saying, ‘Oh, she just said thank you.’ No, he’s actually told me that earlier on. So that was interesting," she revealed while speaking to Pedestrian.
