Bridgerton lovers have fallen head over heels for Netflix's recently-released period drama, The Lady's Companion.

Based in the 19th century, the Spanish drama sees chaperone Elena Bianda, played by Nadia de Santiago, on a mission to find husbands for three wealthy sisters. As she takes on this role, Bianda is drawn into a world of love, scandal and humorous suspense.

The eight-episode series arrived on Netflix on 28th March, and many have already binged the entire season, saying that it's the perfect show to fill the void left by Shondaland's Bridgerton, which isn't set to return to our screens until next year.

Viewers have really enjoyed the episodes, which are filled with "forbidden romance", "enemies to lovers", "secrets" and "messy" older sisters.

So much so, that they're calling for a second season. And it sounds like they could be in luck!

Read on for everything we know about a possible second season of The Lady's Companion.

It's hard to say when a second season will air on the streaming site, but based on the filming schedule for season one, we can make some educated guesses.

The Lady's Companion season one began filming on 26th January, 2024. Filming lasted nearly four months and wrapped in May 2024. The show then launched on Netflix in March 2025, meaning there were around 10 months in between filming and its official release.

If production has already started, we could be looking at around next year before we see a second season, if it were to follow the same schedule as season one. But to quote Montalban, "everything is very fast these days" so it could be sooner than later.

What could The Lady's Companion season 2 be about?

The Lady's Companion ended on a cliffhanger, so there is definitely potential for a second season.

What happens with Elena and Santiago? And what about Esther and Josefina? These are just some of the questions that could make up the storyline for the next season.

The Lady's Companion is available to stream on Netflix.
