A spy thriller series set in London at Christmas? With Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw playing spies? Oh sign us up. Black Doves is now streaming on Netflix and sees Knightley star as a politician's wife, who has been sharing government secrets for the last 10 years with the secret spy organisation she works for. But things all start to go a bit haywire when her secret lover is killed and she must investigate his murder alongside her former spy partner Sam (Whishaw).

When was Black Doves confirmed for season 2?
In a very rare move from Netflix, Black Doves has already been renewed for a second season, before season one was even released on the 5th December.
During the Edinburgh TV festival in summer earlier this year, Netflix confirmed they would be bringing the series back for round two. The show is produced by SISTER and Noisy Bear.
What will happen in Black Doves season 2?
It's hard to know for sure because Netflix have got the current plans under wraps. But season one, which is set in London at Christmas, follows Keira Knightley as a spy, Helen, who has been married to the defence secretary for 10 years trading government secrets as part of an underground operation called the Black Doves, headed up by Mrs Reed (Sarah Lancashire).
When Helen's secret lover Jason is killed, Reed calls in Helen's old friend, colleague and champagne drinking assassin Sam (Ben Whishaw) to keep her safe as they true to figure out who killed Jason and how his death is connected to a vast undercover interconnected conspiracy taking over London.
It's likely that season two will see Helen and Sam at the centre of another thrilling story, whether trying to uncover another secret plot or as hitmen.
Who will be in the cast of Black Doves season 2?
We'd expect to see many of the cast from season one coming back for season two, although it, of course, depends on whether the series features a time jump. Or, perhaps like The White Lotus, it might be an anthology series, meaning season two focusses on a whole new cast of Black Doves who find themselves tangled up in the criminal underworld.
