Another day, another Married At First Sight UK couple for us to emotionally invest in. While some of the original series nine pairings seem to be on the rocks (Emma and Caspar? R u ok?), things are rosy in the world of Luke and Amy. But are the couple still together now? Here's what you need to know about their relationship status.
What has happened for Luke and Amy on MAFS UK so far?
Luke, a 30-year-old Prison Education Manager from Kent, and 27-year-old Amy, a Wedding Planner from Blackburn, were matched up by a team of relationship experts, based on a series of questionnaires. After revealing their ideal partners, morals and interests, the pair met for the first time on their wedding day, before heading on honeymoon and moving in together. They have also been taking part in weekly dinner parties and commitment ceremonies along with their fellow couples.
On their wedding day, the spark was immediate, but Amy slightly got the ick over Luke's constant complimenting of her (two guesses whose love language isn't words of affirmation!) Still, their honeymoon was a success and they made it through their first dinner party and commitment ceremony without a hitch - with the other couples even referring to them as the Barbie and Ken of the show.
During their first session on the couch with the experts, sex therapist Charlene Douglas pointed out how Luke needed to be aware of how uncomfortable compliments made Amy, and that they should work on their communication.
On their pottery date, Amy admitted she still finds Luke's affection a bit strong, but the pair continued to try and find each other's emotional boundaries, and align on their love languages.
It was during Homestays week that things hit a real rocky patch. Luke made a comment about a photograph of Amy on the wall of her family home, noting that it was "before the glow up", which understandably upset his partner.
Then, at drinks with Amy's friends, Amy felt like he was hiding the truth about his 'butler in the buff' past, with Luke saying he felt like Amy was attacking him in front of her friends. "Well as of now, I'm a single man. I felt there was an agenda here to portray me a certain way," he said in response, taking off his wedding ring.
Are Luke and Amy from MAFS UK still together now?
Of course, due to the rules of the MAFS UK, Amy and Luke can't reveal for sure whether they're still together until it comes up on the show. The pair do follow each other on social media, which is a good sign, and have been sharing sweet captions on the grid.
On 10th October 2024, Luke wrote alongside a photo of the pair, "@amyvictoriakenyon got me feeling like a million dollars and looking like a million more 😍 The wife and I are bringing that newly kindled romance to the dinner party tonight at 9pm on @e4mafsuk."
He also replied, "thank you 🙌❤️" to a comment which read, "You both look so perfect for one another. I can only say on looks as I do not know you both." Amy also replied to a comment which read, "Awww I love you two together 🥰" with "aww thank you so much 🙌💖"
Then, on 23rd October 2024, fans thought Luke might have accidentally given away his relationship status when he referred to Amy as his "wife" in the present tense. Considering the show was filmed around a year ago, does that mean they're still married now?!
On Amy's Instagram Story this week, she wrote: “Hi everyone, I had my phone stolen in Manchester on Saturday and I have very limited access to my socials. Bare with me and I’ll be back soon.” Luke then posted his own Story, adding, "My wife Amy has had her phone stolen. Please bear with. Thank you for understanding."
We'll have to wait and see what happens during the final vows, which are due to take place later this week. E4 have announced the reunion will air on Wednesday 13th November and Thursday 14th November, which will also give us more of an insight into whether Luke and Amy are together, and have managed to stay together since the experiment came to an end.
