So my hair is perfect in every single way you guys are relentless with these questions at Cosmo, Oh my God, I need *** nap honey. How often should I wash my hair? Great question. It really depends on who you are, what your hair type is, what your haircut is, what your lifestyle is. There's *** lot to factor in to this question, but ultimately it would be said that we should probably try to avoid washing every day if you can avoid it. There's some caveats there. If you like work in health care. If you're like around the hospital, if you're like in *** gym and you're setting your head stuff all the time, honey, you probably need to wash that hair. But if you aren't touching your head to anything like physically dirty, your sweat is not dirty, your hair oil is not dirty and it's actually really good for your hair to have some of that. So, like 2 to 3 times *** week is prime. If you have to wash more than that, shaving hair is gonna hook you up cause it won't strip out your hair, it won't make it overly dry, but that can tend to happen if you overwash and even if you are using *** great shampoo and conditioner, like JB in here. Um like if you imagine that my gorgeous dress, if you washed this dress every single day for *** year, it's gonna get tattoo, it's gonna get afraid. These little things are gonna get all like, like angry and it's gonna look not as good if you would have washed it like once or twice *** week, right? Versus like every day, your hair is *** lot like fabric, so you want to be gentle with it and definitely, definitely never do this to your hair when you're washing it. No, we don't want to scrub up our cuticles. That always just like, oh do you have any tests for soothing *** dry flaky scalp? Why? Yes, I do. Um someone throw me the pre wash scalp oil as hard as you can. I'm gonna catch with one hand, watch this. The risk comes great reward. This is pre washed up oil. It's amazing. I like to say that this has like my favorite fab five ingredients of all time. So it has our sugarcane derived squalene and squalene. That's in hemi, squalene is in all of our products, squalene is in some of our products, but all of it is sugar cane drive. So you have both of these in there, then you also have tumeric. And what tumeric does is it decongest the hair follicle and it's also anti inflammatory. So if you're having any irritation on your scalp. If you also have any build up in your hair follicles that's preventing him from coming out the tumeric and this is gonna help to clarify that. Then it also has rosemary extract, which has been shown to increase circulation. So it's just really setting up your scalp for success, then it has the heavy squealing and squealing, that's really assuaging. So if you have flaky is, if you have irritation, that's really gonna help, then there's visible all and what visible all does is it helps the hair to fight against breakage. The scalp needs to be exfoliated. It needs to be stimulated. You know, just even with your fingers and washing. So, but then over washing can be not good too. So you gotta find your happy place with washing and use JV and hair catch just kidding. Mm hmm. My phone is going off today. How should I prep my hair before styling? That is another really good question. Um so I need both my hands to talk about this. So it really depends on how you're going to style your hair. But I would say one thing universally is true. We should definitely be using conditioner in the shower even if you're someone who has fine hair or you're like, oh it gets way down, check out our our embody. Or you could use like another volumizing bodybuilding shampoo or excuse me, conditioner. Um but you do want to protect your strands in the shower by using conditioner because when you're in the shower and when your hair is wet, it's really open the cuticle, it's very vulnerable and it can really take on good ingredients. So definitely give it some conditioner period then out of the shower. I love our instant recovery serum hair serums are gonna help to balance out the porosity of your hair and it will help whatever hairstyle you're doing b more even because of the nature of how hair grows right? Like this is my scalp and then this hair is like *** newborn baby. It's *** little baby here and then this is like *** toddler. You know, it's been on my hair for like *** few months because you're currently grows like *** quarter of an inch month, then this is like *** kid, then this is *** teenager, then it's an adult and then honey, this is like geriatric down here. This is like going into the home to visit, make sure I got to, you've been through so much. How are you grandma and grandpa? I love you down here. You've been so good to me, you've been here since the Obama administration honey. I just, I love you. You know, do do do do you gotta do that to your ends. Okay, so an instant recovery serum, which is our hair serum or lots of hair serums or there's also some spray prostate equalizers that is going to give your mid lengths and ends the nutrients and the balance that it needs so that your whole hairstyle can come up more evenly. So whether you're blow drying it smooth, whether you're running *** curling iron through it, whether you're doing your natural curls, whether you're *** one *** two *** four C *** serum is gonna help to balance the hair and it's also going to help the other products that you use work better. So insert recovery serum straight out of the shower. Use *** wide tooth comb to distribute it throughout your hair and then style as desired. Use whatever other products you want to use to get your desired result and recovery serum balance the porosity. Yes. Celebration. Okay, what's the next one? Ah I always get flyaways. What's *** good way to tame and lock them down. Put *** ring on it, just kidding. Um Okay, so here's another, like, here's the other t on flyways your hair has like three stages of growth, right? All the hair that like sheds when you take *** shower. That hair is like the hair that just fell out. Then you have the hair that you have that's like down here. You know, that's living its best life. Your flyaways *** lot of times are really just hair that is replacing the hair that was shed. So that's *** lot of what flyaways are. Sometimes it can be breakage. Sometimes it can be like some texturizing that you got in your hair cut that's like maybe not laying with the rest of the hair. So one thing I like to say about flyaways is is that they're totally natural and you don't always have to like lock them down. It's okay to have *** fly away or two. It doesn't ruin your style. And if you look at some of the most major hair artists and major hairstylists and some of the most incredible red carpet looks when you look at it when it's not Photoshop, there are some flyaways here and there. So flyaways are okay, even *** listers have them. Okay, so, I mean, look at me, I'm just kidding. So my hair is perfect in every single way. Um But yeah, so flyaways do happen if your hair is really prone to flyaways, you wanna hit up the moisture, you want to help encourage the hair to like lay together versus repel each other. So more moisture is gonna help with that. And instant recovery serum straight out of the shower is really gonna help with that. And ultimately addressing your hair texture when it's wet, when your hair texture is wet. It's going to like accept more products in the first place. So, prepping your hair when it's wet is really important to helping to prevent flyaways later. Um yeah, I love our air dry cream. That'll help to soothe the fly away if you have really stubborn flyaways. I like to use *** gel and I'll put the gel on the back of my hand, then I'll take *** toothbrush that you don't use on your teeth. Obviously you put *** little bit of the on the toothbrush and you can actually smooth the flyaways down with that toothbrush and it will lay them down and I like to use *** gel versus the hairspray because I notice it with *** little bit of that extra moisture and helps to keep it down versus the hairspray. Sometimes it just wants to kick back up. So I like putting *** little bit more weight on those flyaways at the end of the style. So you don't have to keep doing it every two seconds. How can I quickly freshen up my hair when I have greasy roots. Mm Sometimes oily scalp can happen from over washing. So when you're using *** shampoo that has sulfates in it and you're using it your whole life, you wash it and then your scalp is like, gosh, I'm really dry. I gotta make some oil to replace that oil I just lost. Then you wake up the next day you're like, oh my God, my hair is oily again. So you wash it and your scalp is like God, I just need all that Well yesterday, but I don't have any again. So I'm gonna make more. So when you get into this vicious cycle where by the time you're like 15 2025, 30 years old, your scalp is making like hundreds of times the amount of natural oil it would if you weren't washing so often or with such aggressive chemicals or it's like *** combination of both. So the best thing to do is to start to like walk yourself off of that everyday washing cliff and the way we do that is by like we extend the life of our blow dries or our styles as much as we can spray some water through there on day two and then blow dry the sweat and that oil back into your hair if it looks flat or limp or you're just not vibing it and your hair is really short, throw some gel in there and do like *** really slick little eighties look and embrace the oil that's there and incorporate that into your look. If your hair is really long, do *** little low slung bun or *** half up, half down something that camouflages the oil in your scalp and then wash that next day eventually we would love to get you to wash your hair like, you know, two or three times *** week and that will, that's really the optimal way for like the amount of oil that we want to be in our hair unless you just like work out so, so, so, so, so incredibly much or you're like in *** yoga studio and you put your head on like the ugliest, nastiest, sweatiest floor, like so there are times when you do need to wash more often and that will make you prone to more oily scalp and hair and with it being sulfate free, your scalp won't react so aggressively. So definitely use *** more gentle shampoo and conditioner and that will help your scalp not gets oily. God, you guys are relentless with these questions at cosmo. Oh my God, I need *** nap honey.
