Forget Love Is Blind or even Too Hot To Handle, because there's a new Netflix dating show on the block: The Ultimatum. Since its launch yesterday [6 April] fans have been taking to social media to share their opinions, and everyone is saying the same thing.

The show, which is presented by Love Is Blind's Nick and Vanessa Lachey, has a simple premise. One partner in each couple in the experiment has issued the other with an ultimatum: let's get married, or let's break up.

Their relationships are put to the test for three weeks, with the couples allowed to date other people and act 'single', to see whether they're ready to get married, or if their heart isn't truly in their relationship.

The idea is that if each person in the couple explores connections with other people and decides they are better suited to their original relationship, they'll get married. Or, if they find they're enjoying talking with other people, they'll call things off.

Sounds pretty full on, right? Er, yes, if social media's reaction is anything to go by. In fact, viewers are mainly using one word and one word only to describe the show: messy.

"Nick and Vanessa Lachey with these messy dating shows," one person wrote, while another put, "Whoever's idea it was to produce The Ultimatum on Netflix messy as f***. I’m watching the first episode and none of these couples are even compatible, the experiment is so stupid."

Someone else said, "The Ultimatum on Netflix is messy af. I can’t stop watching. Not since Love Is Blind have I been this intothese types of shows. who’s idea was this and when is the next season coming out?"

Exactly what we're after in a reality show tbh.
