We've only got one thing on our mind right now, and it's Top Boy. Ever since the last series dropped on Netflix (which is the streaming service's second but the fourth overall), fans have had a lot of questions about the return of Dushane, Sully and the rest of Summerhouse Estate.
Firstly, where exactly are Jamie, Stef and Aaron's parents? Then, we needed a little clarification on that ending, and finally - the biggest question of all - we need to know if there's going to be another series. So, from the cast to release date, here's everything we know about the fifth and final season of Top Boy.
Top Boy season 5 trailer
Netflix dropped the first teaser trailer for Top Boy season five on 28th April. In it, Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson AKA Kano deliver some dramatic performances and we get a sneak peak on who will rise up as the top boy of Summerhouse Estate.
Next, in August 2023, they revealed another trailer. In it, Sully tells Dushane, "Just know that we are f***ing linked", before we also see a glimpse of Barry Keoghan, who has joined the cast, in his latest role as one of their drug gang rivals.
The final Top Boy season 5 trailer came in September 2023:

Top Boy season 5's confirmed release date
Alongside a trailer announcement in April 2023, Netflix revealed that Top Boy will return to our screens this September.
Later in August 2023, they confirmed the specific release date on Twitter, tweeting, "Top Boy. The Final Chapter. 7 September."
Top Boy season 5 cast
Ashley and Kane will be back as Dushane and Sully, of course. Little Simz, Jasmine Jobson, Araloyin Oshunremi and the rest of the supporting cast, including Saffron Hocking, will also return for the final season.
But, spoiler alert, it looks like Jamie, Ats and Kit played respectively by Micheal Ward, Keiyon Cook and Kadeem Ramsay won't be back as they all died or were killed in season two. Yep, we still can't get over it.
Also, we have some new cast members joining the cast, as revealed by Netflix in July 2022. " Barry Keoghan and Brian Gleeson will join the cast as new characters, Jonny and Tadgh", who seem to be Sully and Dushane's new rivals.
When was Top Boy season 5 confirmed?
On 31 March 2022, Netflix confirmed Top Boy season five was on its way. In a statement, they wrote: "Following the release of Top Boy Season 2 on Netflix on 18th March 2022, the show quickly went to number 1 in the UK as audiences switched on to watch Jamie get out of prison and disrupt Dushane’s unrivalled rule of Summerhouse, and Sully emerge from his reclusive life to ride out for family.
"The finale of the season left fans with their jaws-dropping. Now the stakes are at their highest and it’s time for the final reckoning."
Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson, who play Dushane and Sully said of the news: “For those that have followed the journey from the start, you will know how much this show means to everyone on our team and we wholeheartedly know how much it means to you. These characters have been a part of our lives for over a decade now and without everyone’s support we couldn’t have come this far.
"Whilst the journeys of Dushane and Sully have remained at the core of the show, the new characters that have entered the world of Top Boy have become a key part of the show’s legacy, representing each new storyline in a raw, authentic way.
"With all this being said, and staying true to our original goal, every story must have an ending and so season three will be our finale. A chance to come full circle and end the journey in the right way. We’re very excited about what’s next and thank you for riding with us. We appreciate you. See you again soon.”
What might happen in Top Boy season 5?
At the end of season four, we see Jaq's sister Lauryn (Saffron Hocking brutally stabbing abusive boyfriend Curtis to death, after attempting to flee his control.
Season four also saw the discovery of Ats' (Keiyon Cook) body, which was found in a dumpster. Dushane and Jamie set out to uncover who killed Ats - with the search leading them to Jamie's best friend Kit (Kadeem Ramsay). It turns out that Kit ordered Dexter to rough Ats up in order to scare him, but the encounter went too far and eventually Ats was killed. Dushane then orders Jamie to kill Kit in order to prove his loyalty.
At the end of season four, we saw the biggest plot twist of all, with Sully killing Jamie, in an effort to stop Jamie taking over from himself or Dushane. The series' final scene sees Jamie at home with his brother Aaron and Stefan when a knock at the door disrupts their dinner. The visitor turns out to be Sully, who then shoots Jamie twice in the chest followed by a final shot to the head. Sully leaves while Stefan and Aaron are left with Jamie's body.
As for what could happen next, there are lots of open doors. Stefan and Aaron witnessed Jamie's murder, meaning their futures could be at risk. And will we see Sully facing consequences? Agh.
