New Netflix thriller Pieces Of Her dropped on the streaming platform last week, and it's had fan thoroughly gripped.
Starring Toni Collette and Bella Heathcote, the series focuses on mother and daughter Laura and Andy, who find themselves involved in a violent attack in their small town. Following the chaos, Andy sets out to uncover details about her mother's dark and mysterious past, with potentially deadly consequences looming.
Based on the novel by Karin Slaughter, the show originally appeared on Netflix as an eight-part series, launching on 4th March 2022. And while the show's ending tied up a lot of the mystery, fans are still holding out for a potential Pieces Of Her season two.
Here's what we know about a possible Pieces Of Her series two so far...
Has a Pieces Of Her season 2 been confirmed?
Netflix hasn't confirmed anything on a follow-up to Pieces Of Her just yet. However, the series has been firmly situated in Netflix's UK Top 10 since being released, so there's always a chance the streamer could renew the project for a second season, thanks to its popularity.
And, if that's the case, we're sure a second instalment would prove *just* as well received.
Is there a Pieces Of Her season 2 expected release date?
Of course, nothing has been confirmed yet. However, if Pieces Of Her does return for a second series, we wouldn't expect it to arrive until at least 2023.
The first series began filming in January 2021 in Australia (despite being set in America), eventually coming to screens in March 2022. So, working on the same timeline, if a second series started production in 2022, we'd expect it to be 2023 before we see anything on screens. Still, with Covid hopefully providing fewer restrictions going forward, there's always the possibility that things could move faster a second time around.
Who might star in Pieces Of Her season 2?
If Pieces Of Her *does* come back for a second season, we'd hope that both Toni Collette and Bella Heathcote would return as Laura and Andy too.
As for who likely won't be returning, we saw Gil Birmingham's character (Laura/Jane's Witness Protection Program handler Charlie Bass) die towards the end of series one - meaning he's unlikely to come back, unless it's in flashback form.
Plus, Aaron Jeffery's character Nick ended up in prison at the end of the series, so he might also not be back on screens, unless series two takes us inside the prison.
Finger's crossed there's an official update soon!
