Top Boy 2 is almost here, and aside from being outrageously excited, we're also pretty aware that it's been three years since the previous season aired so we might need some reminders.
In case you're a little confused this is the technically the fourth instalment of the hit show, but only the second since it was revived by Drake and Netflix in 2019 after being abruptly cancelled six years earlier. This means that while you've definitely seen the show around since 2011, this new version is kind of considered a new era.
So, as we get very excited for Top Boy 2, here's your complete recap of all the drama that took place in the previous season of the hit show.
What happened to Dris?
Towards the end of the previous series Jermaine offers Dris more money in exchange for giving up Dushane and Sully's whereabouts, and, wanting to provide for his daughter, Dris agrees.
However London Fields' ambush of Summerhouse goes wrong, with Sully and Dushane escaping and discovering that it was Dris who betrayed them.
This all leads to Sully to killing Dris as payback. However some fans believe that since we only heard the gunshot and didn't actually see Dris's death, Sully may not actually have gone through with it.
The confrontation between Modie and the police
By episode eight Modie has escaped from custody and regained control of London Fields. However, when they tried to ambush Summerhouse things went wrong and Dushane and Sully fled but London Fields managed to get hold of Lizzie.
During a prison attack Modie sustained an injury to his eye, which had been getting worse, so he goes to see a backstreet doctor to get treatment. however the police stop him on his drive home, resulting in Lizzie being set free and Modie being shot in the street by the cops.
The police are getting closer to Dushane
Towards the end of the final episode we find out that Sarah (Isla Jackson-Ritchie) and Lee (Josef Altlin), the two drug users who've been part of the series throughout, are actually undercover cops, part of the investigation into Dushane and his network.
In that moment we also see just how much the police know about the group, with Dushane labelled as 'Top Boy' on their evidence board, alongside a huge network of connections and information.
The finale cliffhanger
In a move none of us saw coming, Dushane pays Jamie a visit in prison, bringing the evidence that will get him out after Jamie took the fall for the gun and drugs planted in his brother's flat on Dushane's orders.
Dushane shows Jamie a CCTV video proving that the green bag with the items actually belonged to Atticus. He tells him that he'll have it sent to his lawyer by the end of the day if Jamie agrees to come and work for him once he's out of prison.
Meanwhile, Sully and Dushane's friendship seems to be struggling, with Sully suffering from PTSD after Jason's death. At the end of the series we see Sully and Dushane arguing before Sully goes off to watch his ex-girlfriend pick up their daughter from school. All of this suggests that Sully could be looking to turn his life around, perhaps promptin Dushane to look for a new partner in Jamie.
Top Boy 2 lands on Netflix on 18th March.
