Netflix is working on a documentary about Britney Spears set to rival Hulu's hit docu-film Framing Britney Spears. According to Bloomberg the Netflix project was already in the works when Framing Britney Spears was released.

Here's everything we know about the upcoming project.

What do we know about Netflix's Britney Spears documentary?

According to Bloomberg Netflix's Britney documentary project has been in the works for some time - since before Framing Britney Spears was released, and according to Netflix's first teaser clip for the project it's set to be titled Britney vs Spears.

The clip features a voicemail Britney left for her lawyer regarding her conservatorship and it's the first bit of information Netflix has given about their documentary.

The documentary is likely to follow the same story as the Hulu film, looking at the misogynistic treatment of the young star by the press and the famous conservatorship imposed on her by her father, which renders her life, career and assets under his control. Since its release Framing Britney Spears has been a huge hit with viewers, and is one of the most talked about documentary films of the past year.

Who's involved in Netflix's Britney Spears documentary?

While we don't know a huge amount about the Netflix project, Bloomberg reports that filmmaker Erin Lee Carr is set to direct. Carr is known for her work on true crime projects such as I Love You, Now Die: The Commonwealth Vs Michelle Carter, At the Heart of Gold: Inside the USA Gymnastics Scandal, both on HBO, along with Netflix's corruption documentary series Dirty Money.
