If there's one person on this Earth who could pull off a shaved head, no – scrap that – half of a shaved head, it would be FKA Twigs. She's not only the fashion IT girl of our time whose had a spellbinding career of operatic vocal arrangements, conceptual videos and futuristic instrumentals (!!), but she's now adding 'beauty mogul' to that impressive resumé. Natch, I guess.
Last night [14 March, 2024], FKA Twigs attended the launch of Chioma Nnadi's first issue of British Vogue and for the event, she went above and beyond in both the fashion and beauty departments. After all, she is the cover star of the recent magazine issue!
The musician stepped out wearing a sequin embellished mini dress, rugged fur coat, platform yellow heels and to top it off, 50 (or so) per cent of a buzzcut. FKA Twigs' hairstylist and the genius behind her avant-garde cut, Louis Souvestre debuted the new look on Instagram.
"Dread and shave on @fkatwigs 🤍 last night for her @britishvogue cover launch party 🌪🤍🌪🤍🌪," Louis wrote to caption his nine-part carousel post. Swipe through the below to see said buzzcut at every angle.
While she looked incredible in the magazine shoot itself, it was the lack of hair at the launch party that got us talking. I mean, FKA has gone from having extra long raven lengths to what my day three shaven legs look like – that is, with a chunk of locks having remained at the back of her head.
It's a hairstyle only FKA Twigs could pull off and for that, we applaud her.
