Step aside, Kardashians, we've got a new makeup muse in our midst, and it's none other than actor and producer, Michelle Pfeiffer! Who'd have thunk it?!
Over the weekend, Michelle stepped out onto the Hollywood red carpet for a "Clips and Conversations" event in honour of the TV series The Madison, in which she stars. And while her performance was definitely a talking point, it was actually her choice in eyeshadow that had the Cosmo Beauty Team nattering.
Now, as shown in the picture below, Michelle kept her makeup look pretty minimal and skin-first – soft, diffused and rosy in all the right places. That said, there's no denying her blue eyes are a standout. And that, my friends, is no coincidence; it's actually all down to one very clever makeup trick.
Cosmo UK previously spoke to celebrity makeup artist Neil Scibelli, who shared his expert advice on the makeup shades that will complement your eye colour. And the perfect partner to blue eyes? Orange! Orange sits opposite blue on the colour wheel, which is why warm tones like peach, copper, and bronze make blue eyes look brighter and more defined.
"Some of my go-to eyeshadow colours for blue eyes are golds, champagnes, coppers, browns, and even warm peach tones," Neil says. "If you're looking for a bit more of a dramatic contrast or an evening look, you can go for dark eyeliners and smoky shadows in shades like grey and deep charcoal."
So, if you, like Michelle, are an ocean-eyed babe, it may be time to invest in an orange-toned eyeshadow palette. And as for the rest of us (I'm talking to you, green, brown and hazel-eyed individuals), head here to get the lowdown on the makeup that best complements your peepers.
