Katy Perry and I stand united. And yes, while I often reminisce on 'Last Friday Night['s]' antics, it's actually her role as a hair chameleon that has us bonded. Like myself, one day the singer can be seen rocking XXL Rapunzel lengths and the next – per today – she's cut off her hip-skimming tresses in replacement for a long choppy bob. Enter: a hair refresh for Autumn...

To debut said new look, Katy took to Instagram overnight with a six-part carousel post. The 'photo dump 🚽🤳🏻,' as she calls it in her caption, has been shared to promote Katy's shoe brand, Katy Perry Collections. However, it's not the footwear that had us doing a double take.

Admittedly, at first glance, we were taken aback by the setting in which the initial photo was taken (hi, hello toilet selfie), closely followed by her just-below-shoulder-length haircut.

See all that we're gushing over below:

Shown in the snap above, accompanying the star's newly acquired micro-fringe is a freshly cut choppy lob (aka, a long bob). Unlike the traditional blunt haircut, this style has been finished with layered, feathered ends which give a soft natural texture to the look, not to mention equal amounts of balance and symmetry. *Chef's kiss*

As reported earlier this year, searches for the term 'choppy bob' were up 550%, predicting shorter styles to dominate 2023; "bobs and lobs will reign the hair scene." So, with this and Katy's new 'do in mind, could we be onto a winning (read: trending) hairstyle for the upcoming autumn season?

Everyone's clicking on...

I guess we'll have to wait and see!
