Let me set the scene: It's the roaring twenties (1922, to be precise) and Jay Gatsby is standing before a bed of glistening night sky fireworks, raising a glass of champagne to you. You being Katy Perry, ofc, because baby, she is thee firework... see what I did there? OK, dramatics aside, can we talk about how Katy Perry's most recent hairstyle is giving ultimate Jazz Age vibes?

Taking to Instagram, the singer shared a five-part carousel post looking "very rich", as Fitzgerald would say. Donning a black floor-length gown embellished in crystals – accompanied by, what looks to be a fur hooded shawl – Katy accessorises with a hair major statement. Enter, the 'S'-style finger wave updo – a classic look from the era.

To no surprise, celebrity hairstylist Jesus Guerrero – whose clientele also includes Kylie Jenner, Khloé Kardashian and Alexa Demie, to name a few – was the genius behind Katy's 'do. The style grazes across her face, forming a chic faux side fringe.

Revealing the occasion for said glam, Katy writes in the caption of her post: "TONIGHT I’m celebrating one of my all time favorite comediennes… it’s Carol Burnett’s 90th birthday and I’m singing a very special song! 👂🏻♥️ Watch TONIGHT 8/7c on NBC and streaming on Peacock".

Never mind the song, Katy, I'm sure everyone will be fangirling over your hair. After all, I certainly am.

But my thoughts aside, we're almost certain Daisy Buchanan would have loved this look, too!
