When logging onto the 'Gram this morning, my beauty journalist instincts (think: Karen from Mean Girls' fifth sense) went into overdrive when scrolling past Katy Perry's most recent post. I mean, as she said herself in the film: 'it's like I have ESPN or something'. Now, I know that this could mean many a' thing, but in my world what makes the post *A1* is the dramatic haircut... or is it?

The singer took to her main Instagram grid to share not one, not two but three (!!) stunning outfit pics. While the entire ensemble is giving major glam (read: 'category is: safari disco'), our favourite aspect has to be the hair. And 'why is that?' I hear you ask... well, at first glance it appears that Katy has chopped off her lengthy dark tresses and traded them in for a 'Posh bob' cut – that's Victoria Beckham circa 2006 inspired, to you and me.

Take a look at the 'do below which also features a very Y2K side-sweeping, eye-grazing fringe:

Super chic, right?!

Alas, when taking a gander at the pap pics from when she was spotted making her way to Jimmy Kimmel Live [16 February, 2023], all was revealed. Spoiler: not an inch of her hair has been shed.

As shown in the above pic, we can see that Katy's hairstylist, Jesus Guerrero has, in fact, worked her long locks up and into a super sleek ballerina bun. Now, as disappointed as we are to know that today is not a day for said dramatic transformation, there's no denying that this hairstyle is equally as stunning.

Everyone's clicking on...

Oh, and did I forget to mention that it's the perfect pre-weekend look?! BRB, I'm off for some much-needed styling practise for laying in bed all day calls for a sophisticated updo.

Fire emojis all around. PERIOD.
