Now, IDK about you but in this current climate (read: unbearable 40 degree heatwave), all I want to do is chuck my hair up into a messy bun so that it is entirely and I mean, ENTIRELY, out of my face. Complete with a paddling pool and strawberry daiquiri, no less... but I suppose just the hair up will have to do.
Having said that, one brave, brave soul is out there battling the heat with their hair down. Could never be me. That person is singer, songwriter and 1/3rd of Destiny's Child, the legendary Kelly Rowland.
Last night, Kelly attended the world premiere of Universal Pictures' "NOPE" at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. For the red carpet event, Kelly went all out and opted to wear her hair in XXL extensions that have been styled down and in loose waves.
And yes, when we say XXL, we mean extra, extra ∼hip-skimming∼ long. Plus, as well as the mermaid locks, as you can see from the pic below, Kelly has a few lighter brown highlights throughout her head. The colour makes the entire look even more summer-worthy. Glowlights anyone?
Now that we think about it, this hairstyle reminds us a lot of others we have seen recently. Millie Bobby Brown, Gigi Hadid and Nicki Minaj, as well as Kim and Khloe Kardashian, have all sported mermaid waves recently. And we have to applaud them all, for it is such a lewk.
So, before the sun comes and goes (we know what the British weather can be like), why not jump on the mermaid hair train and invest in a waver.
