With fashion month coming to an end, now is the time to round up the very best looks from the runway and get that spring makeup Pinterest board together – finally (!!), this is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Simone Rocha, Gucci, and Coach all debuted otherworldly metallic eye looks, and our fav Rihanna has just cemented this as a trend for the upcoming months.
The pop legend, beauty mogul, fashion designer, and all-around powerhouse (no, there’s nothing she can’t do), just debuted a stun-ning double-winged eyeliner and cut crease makeup look at last night’s Fenty Beauty x Ulta Haul celebrations.
But this was no ordinary double winged liner, no. Instead of sticking with the classic graphic black look which we’ve been seeing a lot of lately, RiRi took her liner to the next level, layering a classic black wing with a silver swoop.
And yes, I know what you’re all thinking, this does confirm that we all were trendsetters back in the day - when silver NYX eyeliner was the go-to weekend look circa early 00s. Note the keyword: ‘weekend’, because unfortunately, it wasn’t quite school-appropriate… as my mum loved to remind me *rolls eyes*.
However, like a lot of the Y2K looks we once loved resurfacing, silver liner is back and better than ever. And if we’re going to follow in Ri’s footsteps with this iconic look, it must be paired with a neutral cut crease shadow. Celebrity makeup, Priscilla Ono, broke down the look for us all on Instagram, and shared that she used the Fenty Snap Shadows Mix & Match Eyeshadow Palette in True Neutrals, £22.
As for the liner, though, Priscilla didn’t specify what she used, but not to worry, because we’ve rounded up some of our favourite silver liners you can use to recreate this look:
This really is Rihanna’s world and we’re all just living in it.
