Un'ultima stagione come quella di Succession non si dimentica. Ed era chiaro che la serie, arrivata al culmine della narrazione con un season finale chiacchieratissimo, avrebbe fatto il pieno di nomination agli awards televisivi della stagione appena trascorsa (che va da giugno 2022 al 31 maggio 2023). E così è stato, almeno agli Emmy: le candidature sono state annunciate il 12 luglio e Succession ovviamente si è guadagnato le candidature più golose, seguito solo da The Last of us, The White Lotus e House of The Dragon (tutte visibili su Sky e NOW). La serata di premiazione si terrà a Los Angeles il prossimo 18 settembre.
La novità più interessante - anche se non è affatto una sorpresa - è che due italiane, ovvero Simona Tabasco e Sabrina Impacciatore, entrambe eccelse protagoniste della seconda stagione di The White Lotus, sono state candidate insieme a molte colleghe di set (tra cui anche Jennifer Coolidge) nella sezione Miglior attrice non protagonista in una serie drammatica. Due possibilità, insomma, che l'Italia si porti a casa almeno una statuetta.
Le previsioni dicono ampiamente che Succession si porterà a casa le statuette più importanti, ma ci sono concorrenti insidiosi che mirano a rendere più instabile questo successo per molti assicurato. Ecco dunque le nomination degli Emmy 2023 nelle categorie principali.
