"Type Dangerous" di Mariah Carey, di cosa parla la canzone dell'estate
Il brano ruota attorno al sample del brano Anni '80 "Eric B. Is President" di Eric B. & Rakim e mescola le vibe hip-hop del classico con una nuova veste pop e scintillante alla Mariah. Così, il testo di "Type Dangerous" racconta con ironia una serie di incontri amorosi della cantante, individuando le varie tipologie di amanti e concludendo con un unica certezza: a Mariah piacciono i tipi pericolosi, perché è molto sicura di sé e «l've never been afraid of love». Beata lei. Ma anche grazie a lei che ci infonde questa buona dose di autostima in vista dell'estate.
Non stupisce quindi che "Type Dangerous" abbia raccolto già un discreto successo. Nel sondaggio che Billboard Usa ha pubblicato sul sito, gli utenti hanno votato la nuova canzone di Mariah Carey come l'uscita preferita della settimana del 6 giugno, persino sopra a "Manchild" di Sabrina Carpenter. Come dire: la regina del pop è tornata e sembra aver già sbaragliato la concorrenza.
Via Instagram, Mariah Carey ha dichiarato: «Sono così emozionata di poter finalmente pubblicare "Type Dangerous"! Sono stata chiusa in studio per un bel po' di tempo a lavorare a nuova musica, e sono emozionata di poterla presentare ai miei fan, a partire da "Type Dangerous"!». L'ultimo album dell'artista è Caution, che in effetti risale al 2018 e, da allora, Mariah Carey ha lasciato i fan assetati di nuova musica, fino a questo momento. Oltre al nuovo singolo, venerdì 13 Mariah Carey pubblicherà anche il videoclip ufficiale di "Type Dangerous", tra auto scintillanti, feste disinibite e un atmosfera decisamente Y2k.

La novità più grossa però non è tanto il videoclip quanto il piccolo spoiler che Mariah Carey ha lanciato su Instagram. Nell'annunciare l'uscita di "Type Dangerous", l'artista ha pubblicato un teaser in cui la si vede a bordo di un'auto targata MC16, simbolo che molti fan hanno interpretato come un chiaro riferimento all'arrivo di un nuovo album. Ad oggi, infatti, Mariah Carey ha all'attivo 15 dischi in studio e il suo nuovo progetto sarebbe quindi il numero 16. "Type Dangerous" non solo potrebbe essere il singolo dell'estate, ma anche un delizioso antipasto del nuovo album che verrà.
