Everything we know about High Potential season 3

Drew Goddard’s dramedy High Potential, starring Kaitlin Olsen, has been quietly killing it. While you may have to wait a little longer than expected for season three, there’s no reason to worry about the quirky procedural. Here’s what we know about High Potential season three.

The show follows single mother Morgan Gillory, a high-potential intellectual who gets recruited by the LAPD to consult on unsolved cases. She was previously working as a janitor—very Good Will Hunting of her—and has some unsolved mysteries of her own that she’d appreciate (free) police assistance with if they’re willing. By the end of the second season, Morgan is fairly acclimated to her consultant life of crime solving... but has also made some enemies along the way.

Yup! In March 2026, per The Wrap, the show announced that it was coming back for season three. We also learned that the third season would have a new showrunner. Todd Harthan departed the series to work, instead, on the Disney+ live-action Eragon adaptation. (It’s always dragons, huh...) The new showrunners, per Variety, are Nora Zuckerman and Lilla Zuckerman, a sister writing team whose previous credits include Suits, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Poker Face.

In August 2026, TV Insider reported that both Kaitlin Olson and Javicia Leslie have confirmed via social media that Season three is filming. This is really happening!

To answer that would require us to discover some major spoilers, because season 2 ended on a cliffhanger. Wagner got shot, maybe by an informant! There was a mysterious lurker creeping on Ava! Was it her dad, Roman, or someone else? The new writers really had their work cut out for them on day one.

So, High Potential was renewed, and has already started filming the new season. That’s two major checks off the list. However, it does seem we will have to wait until early next year until we get a hint of when we can expect the new series!
