Reece Weaver has been one of the biggest fan favourites on America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders since the show dropped, so it was a huge shock when she surprised fans — not to mention Kelli Finglass and Judy Trammell — and retired at the end of her third season.
Reece told Kelli and Judy that she’d decided to “move on to a new chapter” and that she was “really excited about it, but it's been hard to make that decision. But I'm emotional because of how grateful I am, truly."
She added, “My cup is filled to the brim, and if my absence gives another girl an opportunity for her cup to be filled, then I consider that the greatest honor, leaving and moving forward.”
So, what is Reece’s new chapter? TBD, but she and her husband were clearly looking for some changes. As Will put it, “Our whole life has pretty much flipped. Reece didn't come out here to become famous.”
Meanwhile, Reece hasn’t opened up on her retirement just yet on social media, but we do know she 100 percent stuck to her decision to leave the team since she doesn’t appear to be at the 2026 Training Camp.
In fact, she’s seemingly moved back to Alabama — at least according to Kelli, who told USA Today, “Three years is a really full career. It really is. Reece, to use her words, her cup was full. She's had a lot of experiences in her three years here, and she's been such a positive light for us. I was sad the day she told us, but it made perfect sense.
"She is newly married and went back to Alabama. Of course, we'll miss her. She made a lasting impression on our team and, clearly, our fan base. She's one of the darlings in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. She has nothing but great things in her future, so I'm very happy for her.”
Excited to see what’s next for Reece!
