Married At First Sight UK viewers got a huge shock this week when musician Divarni, 29, revealed that he and his wife, dancer Julia-Ruth, also 29, had in fact been intimate, despite her implying that they hadn't progressed to this stage in their relationship and that she wasn't physically attracted to him.
During the day trips, the MAFS UK 2025 cast played some games and they were asked to pick the couple they thought were having the "best sex". Leigh went round her group and gave her verdict on each couple. She then pointed at Divarni and said: "Well you're not having any", which put his back up.
In the other group, Julia-Ruth joked that she was having the best sex - using her toys.
Back in the apartments, Divarni brought up the topic with Julia-Ruth and revealed: "We've been intimate you already know that", leading to an argument as JR said: "And I asked you not to say it on camera."
Julia-Ruth has been pretty vocal about how she feels about sex, ranking it very highly in her values earlier on in the season. So, why didn't she want the others to know about her and Divarni being intimate?
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Cosmopolitan UK, Julia-Ruth explained: "I think I'm never one to shy away from talking about intimacy and my sexuality, but I think we just had a lot of battles and I just feel like regardless of whether the intimacy was good or wasn't good or whatever was happening in our relationship, that should be a decision that should be made between my husband and I. And I think as a team we should come forward, make that decision, have the talks, and come forward and present it together to the group."
She continued: "I think that was missed especially because I have some really close friendships with Davide for instance and I feel like for me to then openly say a mutual decision that we're not going to bring this forward to the group, I would have liked to really consider that together and then told Davide myself and then brought it to the group because it was just a mutual decision. So I think for me, I would have just liked the opportunity to reevaluate our decision and then come forward together as a unit."
During Divarni and Julia-Ruth's conversation, he questioned whether she'd "rather make me look like an idiot and lie" than for everyone to know they've been intimate.
She then said that she'd rather talk about it off-camera and asked why he brought it up.
He told her that he wasn't the one who mentioned it, but that the others assumed his relationship wasn't going well because of a lack of intimacy, however, they didn't know the full story.
"They don't really know what's going on. I know what's going on. You know what's going on. I shut my mouth knowing that I was going to look like a fool... so you'll rather allow me looking like a d***head."
Julia-Ruth then hit back: "You want me to sit on the camera and tell everyone that the sex is s***", to which he responded that he didn't care if that was her authentic truth.
She then stormed off, calling him disrespectful.
Will they be able to move past this?
