If there's one thing we love more than MAFS Australia, it's digging into all the tea that comes with it. One couple has called it quits just days into the series, while it's also come to light one of this year's contestants has dated a former groom. Oh, and did we mention new bride Carina has been matched with her ex? Yes, the drama is already drama-ing.
And, speaking of drama, Awhina Rutene and Adrian Araouzo are just another series 12 couple whose relationship has gotten off to a rocky start. So, are the pair still together? Here's everything you need to know... spoilers ahead!
What has happened for Awhina and Adrian on MAFS Australia so far?
In tonight's episode (5 March), we'll see Awhina and Adrian meet for the first time at the altar. Although their initial chemistry is off the charts, things take a turn when Adrian makes an unfortunate joke about children – unaware that his new bride has a six-year-old son. "I was a little bit taken aback by that comment," she says of his ill-timed joke, which we'll hear when the episode airs. "I am a mum and it's a big part of who I am."
Things later resolve between the pair, with Adrian explaining that he's open to being a step dad. "If I fall in love with this girl [then I'll] fall in love with her son," he says. "If it doesn't work out, then I lose two people that I love in life." How sweet?
Are Awhina and Adrian from MAFS Australia still together?
The current season of MAFS Australia has only just started airing here in the UK, but we know from what's already unfolded Down Under that Awhina and Adrian make it quite far into the process. Again, here's your warning that spoilers are ahead.
From what's already been shown over in Australia, we know that Awhina and Adrian make it through Intimacy Week, Friends and Family Week and Confessions Week. At some point though, things turn a little bit, err, sour, when Adrian is accused of behaving inappropriately with one of the other brides, Sierah Swepstone.
The pair develop a "strong friendship" and are later seen playing footsie (for the uninitiated: that's a flirting game in which two people touch feet under a table, often as a romantic prelude) together. This prompts the other contestants to question what's really going on between Adrian and Sierah.
Does this spell trouble for Awhina and Adrian? We'll have to wait and see if they make it through footsie-gate and all the way to final vows.
