From Love Island All Stars to Love Is Blind, those of us who are obsessed with dating shows are truly living our best lives right now. And, to make things even better, MAFS Australia just returned to screens as well. Honestly, does it get better than this? We think not.

This week, we saw the first MAFS Australia season 12 couples head down the aisle, and that included the first pairing of the season: Lauren Hall and Eliot Donovan.

While we haven't seen much of their romance (or lack of) so far, things have already been up and down for the pair, prompting us to wonder whether or not Lauren and Eliot are still together.

Here's everything you need to know about what happens on the show for Lauren and Eliot (spoilers ahead, obvs!) and if they are still together...

What has happened for Lauren and Eliot on MAFS Australia so far?

Lauren and Eliot are the first contestants we see paired up on this season of MAFS Australia, with the experts saying its "fate" they applied at the same time because their views on relationships align so well.

Despite that, Eliot's declaration that he would "leave" the ceremony if there's no initial spark put doubts into viewers minds. Luckily, he did hit it off with Lauren when the pair met at the altar — although the actions of Lauren's sister at the reception threw a spanner into the works.

While Lauren and Eliot got to know each other after the ceremony, the bride's sister Tamara left the wedding in tears before later returning. "I find it very frustrating that she can't keep it together for the sake of me," Lauren said, with Eliot agreeing that the situation was "off-putting". Yikes!

Are Lauren and Eliot from MAFS Australia still together?

The current season of MAFS Australia has only just started airing here in the UK, but we know from what's already unfolded Down Under that things don't end well for Lauren and Eliot.

As well as being the first couple to walk down the aisle, Lauren and Eliot are also the first couple to call it quits. In fact, they don't even make it to their honeymoon. The day before they are due to jet off, Eliot says he doesn't want to "compromise on his values" and tells Lauren that they are "not really right for each other". He even goes as far as saying that he doesn't like her being older than him, and that he "wanted someone younger... preferably someone under 30." FYI, she's 37 and he's 35. Eye roll.

"He's just closed off because he didn't get exactly what he wanted. He's so annoying, I can't stand him," Lauren says during an interview moment, later telling the cameras that Eliot had robbed her "of this experience".

"I know that I can be difficult and Eliot isn't what I'd normally choose," she said. "But I was still willing to try… to learn from the experts and see what I can do better [in relationships]."

Following his departure, Eliot meets with expert John Aiken and tells him: "I've been pretty consistent with that I've been looking for. The person I was matched with was nothing like that. I was expecting to meet a cute librarian-like girl that was younger than me, and I ended up with what felt like a Kardashian sister." Eye roll again.

Even though Lauren is left alone in the experiment, she still attends the first dinner party of the season and is shocked when Eliot doesn't turn up, which truly marks the end of their very short romance – although not the end of their time in the experiment. In scenes that have already aired in Australia, we'll get to see Lauren and Eliot wed different partners. Fingers crossed those matches at least make it to the honeymoon stage...

Watch MAFS Australia on E4, Monday to Thursday at 9pm.
