Last night's episode of Married At First Sight Australia on E4 was intense to say the least as we saw the penultimate commitment ceremony unfold.

The episode was full of shocking revelations with Harrison and Bronte deciding to remain in the experiment and Alyssa walking off during her chat with the experts. However, the most shocking and saddening part of the whole episode was Jesse and Claire's decision to leave the experiment. And it appears viewers, weren't the only ones sad to see them leave as many thought expert John Aiken appeared devastated too.

To quickly rewind, Claire and Jesse have had one of the most turbulent journeys of all the couples this season. They started their relationship on a high with a lovely wedding day, however Jesse soon started to get irritated at things Claire was doing which drove a wedge between them. Things then get worse for the couple after Claire revealed she kissed fellow groom Adam on a night out.

However, the pair remained in the experiment and appeared to be growing closer and even moving on from the cheating saga. That was until Harrison made a few comments at the dinner party in the previous episode which had Jesse question Claire's motives for staying in the experiment.

During last night's episode Jesse revealed he was having doubts about their relationship and said he couldn't get over Claire cheating on him. The pair both decided to leave the experiment and end their relationship.

And viewers were truly saddened to see the pair leave, with many hoping they could have turned it around.

One person who also seemed pretty upset about Jesse and Claire being over was expert John Aiken.

John seemed visibly upset when they both said leave and then asked Jesse if he would have left the experiments if it weren't for Harrison's comments, to which Jesse said "no".

John then told the rest of the group: "There is a lesson here for all of you, especially you Harrison," which many viewers saw as John expressing his frustration and sadness that Jesse and Claire didn't work out.

Another said: "John is gutted that Jesse and Claire are going #MAFSAU #mafs."

And another said: "John seems GUTTED that it didn’t work for Jesse & Claire … and I totally get it."

We're very sad to see Jesse and Claire leave the experiment, but here's hoping they're both doing well after their break up.
