In late 2022, Khloé Kardashian bravely opened up about her melanoma diagnosis and the journey of having the cancerous tissue in her cheek removed. Now, almost two years later, the reality star has given fans an update on said journey, posting before and after photos of her face that show how filler injections helped to remedy the indentation that the tumour left.
On October 11 2024, the mother-of-two took to Snapchat with a number of pictures explaining the process. "Indent before injections," and "Indent after one round of injections," Khloé wrote, giving context to the before and after images posted.
"You can see the difference between the before and after," she adds.
Continuing, the 40-year-old mother-of-two wrote: "As a result of the surgery, and the tumor my incredible doctor removed, I ended up with an indentation in the side of my face. I waited 9 months after surgery to get the indentation filled."
The lengthy process came with precaution, as Khloé explained. "We had to make sure medically everything was safe and my doctor gave me the go ahead."
The youngest of the Kardashian sisters first opened up about her diagnosis on Instagram back in October 2022. She initially thought the small bump that appeared on her cheek was a spot but decided to have it biopsied as a precaution when it was still there seven months later.
Everyone's clicking on...
"After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a zit, I decided to get it biopsied 7 months after realising it was not budging," she said. "A few days later I was told I need to have an immediate operation to remove a tumour from my face. I called none other than Dr Garth Fisher, [a family friend and] one of the best surgeons in Beverley Hills, who I knew would take incredible care of my face."
We're so glad to hear that Khloé caught the melanoma early and has made a full recovery since. Read more about NHS melanoma advice and guidelines, here.
