In this job, I have seen many hairstyles – and super big ones at that; Just scroll through my author biography (humble plug) and you'll be inundated with transformations galore, à la your favourite celebrity, ofc. However, in all my years of writing and gushing over said hairstyles, I have never seen one as large as Emily Ratajkowski's recent 'do... a big statement, I know, but even bigger hair... (soz).
Just short of 24 hours ago [August 26, 2024], EmRata took to Instagram to debut her latest mag cover shoot and it may just be our favourite of hers yet. The model dons the cover of Perfect magazine's Issue 07 with an XXL voluminous blowout, cleverly created by a team of three.
Luigi Murenu directed the hair operation while hairstylists Gonn Kinoshita and Lorenzo Barcella perfected Em's extra extra large locks.
The art of beauty is not to be taken lightly, folks.
In a subsequent video post, one person on set asks Emily four questions. The first being: "Who are you today?". In response to this, she says, "My character is Raquel Welch, Sophia Loren-inspired gal with the biggest hair I've had in my life."
In the 60s, both actors mentioned, Raquel Welch and Sophia Loren, were known not only for their skills on screen but their hair off-screen, too. Think: Volume and body for dayssss. So, we can totally see where the team have drawn inspiration from with Emily's cover look.All that's left to do is wonder what secrets are being hidden underneath all of those layers... IYKYK.
