Marie Antoinette, the last queen consort of France before the French Revolution, was beheaded in the late 1700s and now, almost 300 years later, she's lost her head again, courtesy of Chappell Roan... bear with me here, folks.
Last week [31 July, 2024], your favourite artist's favourite artist, Miss Chappell Roan, took to the Lollapalooza festival stage in Chicago. As one, or rather, Chappell does, the singer turned up and out in full glam but this time, cosplaying as Marie Antoinette. For such a look, Chappell wore a vintage ball gown complete with a pale makeup base and an extra extra large bouffant blonde wig. Natch.
"Mademoiselle bitch 🫖," Chappell captioned the Instagram post which debuted the look in question on social media.
But that's not all because, in true drag Queen fashion, Chappell whipped the beehive wig off during her performance to reveal her long flowing red locks underneath. "It was a bit, Marie Antionette loses her head," one person explained on social media, with another adding, "and her hair being red is perfect resembles flowing blood i luv it."
It was a Ru-veal, if you will (IYKYK).
Name me a better live performance, I'll wait.
Everyone's clicking on...
We've said it before and we'll say it again: The lesbian pop culture boom is in full swing. So, buckle up!
