The actress - who unveiled the look at a screening of her new film, Personal Shopper - reportedly went for the drastic style for an upcoming role. She enlisted hairstylist Bridget Brager to execute the style, who posted an image on her Instagram page.

We totally understand the appeal in grabbing the clippers and shedding your locks, it's a liberating move. It's also a show of confidence and strength - a shaved head leaves nothing to hide behind 🙌.

Buzzcuts made a return a few years ago with the rise of model Ruth Bell, who got rid of her long blonde hair for a shaved head instead. The beauty statement made her more in demand than ever and she currently stars in Dior's latest campaign. Other notable women to go for the buzzcut include Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron and Agyness Deyn.

So, is the buzzcut the new bob? We vote yesss.
