Olivia Rodrigo is turning 21, which is just crazy because it seems like just yesterday that she was "so tired of 17" and just getting her driver's license. Where is the time going? And speaking of time, the 90s supermodel updo that Olivia chose to don for her early birthday celebrations is literally from before her time, having been born in 2003.

Playfully captioning the photos "Today is my last day of being able to underage drink (hypothetically) !!!!", Olivia posted snaps from the celebration to her Instagram, sporting a centre-parted updo that sweeps down the sides of her head before blooming out into a piecey messy bun at the back. And, of course, we can't not mention that one long tendril. The final touch.

Worn with a winged eyeliner and a red lip, the look is somehow nostalgic, timeless and current all at the same time. Touché.

While the hairstyle is characterised by the supermodels that wore it at the time, it of course spread beyond off-duty models and reminds us of teen movie cheerleaders and pop stars on MTV on a Saturday morning. A hefty dose of nostalgia for a time a lot of us probably don't actually remember...

Swiping through the carousel, it seems the updo didn't last long though, as by the time she's blowing her candles out, Olivia's enviable long, glossy brunette hair is tumbling down her back. And if we had that head of hair... we'd be wearing it down too.
