One celebrity who knows the early 00s like the back of their hand is Nicole Scherzinger. After all, The Pussycat Dolls (aka, the poptastic band which skyrocketed Nic to fame) were in their prime circa 2005...'Don't Cha' remember?

But what's making me reminisce on this era is the singer's brand-new-yet-old-school hairstyle; it's the epitome of Y2K hair. Via her hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos' most recent Instagram post, may I present to you a twist on the recently trending two-toned style.

"Y2-COLE ๐Ÿ”ฅ Bring the two-toned hair back again! Major Y2K hair for my girl @nicolescherzinger by ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ," the creator behind the following look writes in the caption of his post.

Back in the day, millennials/zillennials would rock the crimped wave, choppy bangs, and probably the most memorable style of all, hairstreaks and chunky highlights. Most recently, the latter has been creeping back into style with the latest celeb to rock the look being one of the queens of the era herself.

So, instead of opting for sunkissed honey blonde highlights and balayage that many of us seem to have nowadays, trends are slowly rewinding back a couple of decades, as per Nic's hair above.

Having said that, veering away from the traditional black and white skunk style, the Scherzy has given us a black and red version of the lewk. Avril Lavigne, eat ya heart out.

Oh, and can we also give it up for the super cute space bun knots?! *Snaps all around*
