When we found out Yara Shahidi was taking on the iconic role of Tinker Bell in Disney's upcoming live action movie Peter Pan & Wendy, it'd be an understatement to say we were excited. Everything about her is a perfect pixie, and we couldn't wait to see her transformed into one.
While her character nailed a curly take on the iconic Tinker Bell bun – which involved harnessing all of Yara's gorgeous texture with two braids running round her head, like the crown she deserves — it's Yara's own hairstyle we're swooning over today.
She wore the prettiest XL curly pony to meet the adorable Tinker Bell doll that Disney is releasing. Yara's thick, bouncy ponytail swings down her back and is wrapped at the top by, what appears to be, a chunky braid. It was finished with softly-done edges for a relaxed babe feel.
Understandably excited at her own doll, Yara wrote in the caption; "Can you believe it…My very own wings, covered in pixie dust🧚🏽♂️I’m excited to share the Tinker Bell doll inspired by my character in #PeterPanAndWendy. She is so very special! 🧚🏽♂️ "
The doll is certainly not letting the side down when it comes to hair either, thanks to the way it copies her hair in the movie, which was done by celeb hairstylist Nikki Nelms. That's quite a client list for Nikki: Zoë Kravitz, Janelle Monae, Venus Williams and... Tinker Bell.
Sharing some shots of the hair Nikki wrote; " I’m so excited to be a part of such an amazing film with the super talented @yarashahidi as TinkerBell !! 🧚🏽🧚🏽"
Everyone's clicking on...
To which Yara replied; "Nikki ❤️❤️ you da you da best! Thank you for unlocking my inner Tink"
Awwww, guyyyyys. Are we too old to buy dolls? Asking for a friend.
