Thanks to the ever-changing beauty scope, trends and ofc, TikTok, in just three months the hairstyles of 2023 have ranged between lengths, shapes, sizes and colours – there's no telling what'll be next on the bingo card! But today, giving us a style that we've yet to see dominate (I blame the bob), is Jennifer Lopez with her very 00s-esque 'curve cut'.
Now, it doesn't take a fool to be confused over said hairstyle name – I mean, the 'mixie', 'bixie', 'box bob' and 'tiramisu highlights' (to name a few), haven't done us too many favours. Alas, fear not, allow me to explain.
The curve cut, also known as the 'C cut' (I told you, whoever is naming these ain't lessening the complexity!), is a hybrid style that brings the best of many looks together. Think: the layers of a more refined, tamed wolf cut with the feathery aspect of the iconic 'Rachel', and not to mention, 90s flippy ends.
But don't just take my word for it, see none other than J-Lo herself give a masterclass on the look in her recent Instagram reel:
Now, there can be many interpretations of the C cut but Jen has opted to wear her look with extra, hip-skimming lengths and with her straight, inverted, flicky layers styled in a gradient waterfall. Just *chef's kiss*.
If the sunglasses and Gucci one-piece didn't already scream Y2K, then this hair look will certainly transport you back to nostalgic times!
