As tempting as it is to band micro-fringes with the 50s era, many celebrities have proven their timeless feel having resurrected the style within the last few years. And notably, the most recent star to do so took the iconic look to a whole new level and even debuted said newness on one of the most significant nights of the year. May I present to you: Florence Pugh at the 2023 BAFTAs.
Admittedly, the actor is never one to shy away from a standout red carpet moment; In 2022 alone we saw her break the internet (soz, Kim Kardashian) with a number of see-through dresses as well as giving us a sneak preview of her brunette 'do for her role in A Good Person. But her BAFTAs look has us fan-girling to the max... this reference will soon make sense – promise.
Florence's go-to and celebrity hairstylist, Peter Lux worked on creating a fan-like updo *collective 'ahh'* to complement her itsy bitsy micro-fringe that sits mid-way on her forehead. The perfectly fanned-out ends – that also look just like her frothy dress – have been created to frame the sleek bun, adding a much-appreciated sense of pizzazz.
Now, while the fanned-out ends are, in fact, clip-in hair pieces (as revealed by Peter himself on his IG story), we're still holding out hope for the fringe.
Alas, faux or not, there's no taking away from the beauty of this look – Miss Flo, we've gotta hand it to you for you never disappoint.
