I know, I know – we're only a month into the new year and you've probably seen a million stories (written by me alone) talking you through the biggest hair trends of 2023. But among the uptown blonde yadda yadda yadda, one cut that is sitting pretty at spot numero uno is the bob. I mean, if this were a popularity contest, she (read: the hairstyle) would certainly win prom Queen.

The latest celeb to join Hailey Bieber, Zendaya, Emma Stone (I could go on) and co. is now Emily Ratajkowski, who just debuted her very own French take on the 'do at New York Fashion Week. The model showed off her new look with an Instagram Story that had our jaws on the floor.

As shocked as we are to see Emily has chopped off an estimated 10 inches from her once-long locks, another factor we have to take into account that makes her pretty much unrecognisable is the colour. Enter: the jet-black ear-grazing micro-bob:

Oh, and did I forget to mention that she got a full fringe, too?! It's certainly a transformation and we love to see it.

Now, if you're none the wiser to said Parisian chic, allow me to fill you in. What makes this cut so, well, French is the cropped length paired with bangs that sit just on the 'brow line. Basically, if you were to walk down the Champs-Élysées, you'd probably spot a fair few natives rocking the look.

Having said all of this, to cover all bases, we must speculate that this, in fact, could be a wig... boo! As much as we'd love to hope that Em is now part of the sisterhood of the travelling bob, with such a busy schedule and professional work campaigns, we'd expect that her locks must be kept at a neutral length in respect to ease of styling.

Everyone's clicking on...

I guess only time will tell whether or not she's gone the full nine yards. But for now, you best believe I'm adding this look to my hair-spo Pinterest board!
