Some things never fail to surprise me (read: the constant dramz of Love Island) but one matter not on my 2023 bingo card was Jennifer Lopez getting a fringe (aka bangs) cut into her long locks. I mean, if you're looking to take someone to the races, it's clearly not me, as all bets are off.

As one does, J-Lo took to her Instagram feed to debut the new look with a three-part carousel post. And as expected, in less than 24 hours her 233 million followers have taken to the pics like a bee to pollen, swarming with likes and comments. Summarising all our thoughts in a single comment, as one fan put it: "This hairstyle looks amazing on ya".

Take a look at Jen's new 'do in the snaps below:

I mean, if Jen had one fan, it would be me... But I digress...

Although not as full or blocky as say, Lily Collins' trademark cut, Jennifer's new piecey fringe is certainly eyebrow-grazing. And as for the lengths, well, they seem to be untouched as her body of hair is still very much giving 'ghost layers'; the body, volume and slight face-framing strands are prime features of the style.

Now, having said all this, before you go and book in for a cut like Jen's or worse: head to the bathroom with a pair of scissors (please – just no). It's worth speculating that this could be a wig or even a style created with a very clever hair illusion. After all, this looks to be a paid partnership with fashion brand Coach, so, very well may have been shot some time ago.

Everyone's clicking on...

Alas, faux or not, it's certainly a stunning look and one that I'll defo be taking to my next hairdressers appointment as an inspo pic!
