Summer is fast approaching, and while we have Khloe Kardashian's mermaid beach waves and Megan Fox's Tinkerbell-inspired top knot safely stored in the bank of June/July hair-spo looks, there's always room for more. As the ol' saying goes: the more the merrier.

This time, we have the mermaid beach waves version 2.0 and it comes to us from none other than Kim Kardashian. Who wore the hairstyle better, KoKo or KeKe? How about we just go with both...

But what makes this look so different to Khloe's OG waves? Well, Kim's go-to celeb hairstylist, Chris Appleton, shared a snap of his muse's look to Instagram and captioned the post: "Love this glam & the flat wave 🌊". So, we're assuming that this hair is now known as 'the flat wave'. After all, the expert does know best.

And we cannot forget to mention the locks that make this look. It wouldn't be a proper mermaid-esque 'do without the hair extensions now, would it? Celebrity extensionist (sounds fancy, right?!), Priscilla Valles, was the genius behind Kim's XXL faux tresses.

Although not dramatically different, Khloe's wavy look has more texture and volume, whereas Kim's is more tame and almost, well, flat. See a comparison of the two below:

Even though this post is new to the 'gram, the look was actually first debuted earlier this month on Jimmy Kimmel Live when the whole Kar-Jenner clan appeared on the show ahead of the release of their new reality show, The Kardashians. Remember Kris' dramatic bob transformation? Yep, that was this same night.

Everyone's clicking on...

Saving and recycling old looks for when the IG feed is a bit dry... that's showbiz, baby! If only our lives were as eventful we would defo do the same.
