When you think of Ariana Grande, there are a few things that automatically spring to mind. Aside from some of the most incredible vocals to ever grace the Earth and Victorious (obviously), you’d be lying if you said sleek sky-high ponytails and razor-sharp winged eyeliner didn’t pop into your head, too.
But in a new social media video, the singer is switching up her signature go-to for something different. A lot different. Ariana teamed up with makeup artist and drag superstar Gottmik to get an incredible makeover. Seriously, the results are epic.
If, like me, you’re an avid follower of Ariana’s Instagram Stories, you’ll know that the singer is a big fan of Drag Race and frequently posted pictures and videos of Gottmik’s iconic runway looks. In fact, Ari once tried to re-create Gottmik's signature makeup look and the results were... interesting. Which is why it's so adorable that she mentions feeling nervous on camera before being joined by the Drag Race alum.
Using products from Ariana’s r.e.m beauty range, Gottmik gave Ariana an incredible makeover, which the makeup artist described as a “baby, girly version” of their dramatic makeup.
After putting on an incredible wig featuring a high ponytail (of course), Gottmik got to work and created a dramatic winged eyeshadow moment with thick, sharp eyeliner, a berry lip stain and some fluttery, false lashes.
We also have to note just how different Ari looks at the beginning of the video. While still just as beautiful, she looks so different without her signature winged eyeliner.

Alongside tears from laughter, the wholesome video was also filled with some hints about what’s to come for r.e.m. beauty. Telling everybody that the duo are already wearing light base makeup on already, the camera cuts to Ariana saying: “I just used a bunch of products that I can’t show [the viewers] yet so I want them to know that there’s much to look forward to”.
WHAT IS IT, ARI?? Foundation?! Concealer?! Bronzer?! Whatever is it, we’ll take five of each, please.
